HOME SCHOOL LEGAL DEFENSE ASSOCIATION
HSLDA provides legal representation in most home school related matters,
for a single yearly fee. HSLDA is involved at a national level, lobbying
the federal government on home school-related issues. A group discount
is available to CHEACT members (see CHEACT membership application form

TEXAS HOME SCHOOL COALITION
THSC provides legal protection for Texas home schoolers, including certain
situations not covered by HSLDA. THSC is involved at a state level, helping
to promote home school-friendly legislation and organizing grass-roots
lobbying efforts of the Texas state government. They also Publish an "Alert"
bulletin by subscription, a political and legal update; as well as a free
magazine, "The Texas Home School Review".

Austin Home Educators
Austin Home Educators is a list to serve the Home Educators of Austin with announcements of events, field trips, seminars, conferences, etc. in a Christian atmosphere. Although announcements and discussions will sometimes stray from the direct purpose of home schooling, it usually does not stray from our children's interests.
Austin Well-Trained Mind / Charlotte Mason / Classical
All Austin Area homeschool families who have been inspired by "The Well-Trained Mind" by Jessie Wise and Susan Wise Bauer are welcome to discuss issues involving homeschooling our children in
the classical method. Discussions involving the use of Charlotte Mason methods and other classical interpreters are also encouraged. All ages from infants using such activity books as "Slow and
Steady Get Me Ready" by June Oberlander to veteran homeschoolers in the midst of the grammar, logic or rhetoric stages are encouraged to join us, as are all faiths.

Round Rock Home Educators Offering Moms Encouragement (RR H.O.M.E.)
RR H.O.M.E. is a Christian-based support group in Round Rock for
mothers of homeschoolers or mothers who are considering homeschooling.
We offer field trips, monthly meetings, mom's nights out, special
events and weekly park days. Our group is extremely active and
consists of about 80 families with children from babies to teenagers.
